The Ray Award is awarded to an individual who has distinguished himself or herself through extraordinary volunteer service to Lawrence Technological University. Like a ray of sunshine cast on the University community, volunteerism is vital to Lawrence Tech’s growth and development.
The Ray Award is named for its first recipient, Ray Moy, who earned his chemical engineering degree in 1943. Ray set a high standard, serving as Alumni Association president in the late 1940s. He helped to create the Jubilee Society in the 1990’s, founded the Southeast United States Alumni Chapter, and motivated dozens of his fellow graduates to begin over a decade of active student recruitment visitations and alumni programs in Georgia and the surrounding states.
